Cox Communications, 고객 데이터 유출

미국의 인터넷 및 TV 케이블 제공업체인 Cox Communications에서 데이터 유출 사실을 공개했다. Cox Communications는 고객의 이름, 주소, 전화번호, cox 계좌번호, 핀 코드 등의 개인 정보가 탈취되었다고 전했다.

 

해당 공격은 사회공학 기법을 사용하여 Cox 내부 네트워크에 접근한 다음 고객 정보를 탈취한 것으로 추정되며, 해당 유출의 피해 고객의 수와 정확한 사건이 발생한 원인에 대해서는 알려진 바가 없는 것으로 전해진다.
